If you would like to learn more about the natural, cultural and historic heritage of Island Murter and the Kornati islands, please visit us in our Educational Centre for the Sustainable Development of Islands and Coastal Regions. We look forward to showing you the secrets of our beautiful underwater world, which are clearly evident just from the surface without the need to dive - or just come along to prepare yourself for the magic of our hidden aquatic world.  
In our centre, which is open every day during the summer season, you can learn more about the marine ecosystem by viewing our marine aquarium and collection of invertebrates. Learn more about the biodiversity in Kornati, both on land and underwater, by viewing our photo exhibition and educational displays.  While you are visiting our centre, you can watch video footage from the Kornati sub-marine world and be introduced to the endangered species of red gorgonians. In the ethnic corner of the Educational Centre, you can see examples of the traditional clothing worn by the inhabitants of Island Murter, and learn more about their traditions and history.  In the Centre you can also view the interactive presentation “Murter”, which reveals a variety of fascinating details about this destination (from protected flora and fauna to traditional recipes and events). Childrens workshops have also been organized with the theme: “The Wondrous Underwater World of Kornati”.  Choose from a variety of authentic and educational souvenirs (mugs, T-shirts, key-rings, fridge
magnets, puzzles, picture books, and postcards with artwork featuring protected species) – all purchases support the ongoing work of the Centre as well as the conservation of the local environment in the Šibenik - Knin County.
